Hello Awesome Teachers! 👨🏫
Are you looking for a fun, interactive way to practice grammar and speaking that your students will absolutely love? Look no further! Our ever-popular Picture Dissection series has just been updated with two fantastic new versions!

What is Picture Dissection?
Picture Dissection is a super cool activity where your students become language detectives. They start with an amazing image and "dissect" it to find all the different parts of speech—nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. Then, they use those words to build creative sentences describing the picture. It's a perfect blend of grammar, vocabulary, and speaking practice!
How Does It Work?
It’s simple, interactive, and perfect for the classroom!
Select an Image: Students choose from one of five incredible images. The new packs include everything from exciting Minecraft scenes to beautiful, eye-catching photography.
Reveal the Words: Use the buttons on the side to reveal the different parts of speech. Click "NOUNS," and all the nouns will pop up on the picture. Click "VERBS," and the action words will appear. You can reveal one category at a time or all of them at once!
Create and Describe: The final step is for students to use the words they’ve found to create sentences. It’s a great challenge to see how many words they can use in a creative way.
The Perfect Tool for All Levels ✨
One of the best things about Picture Dissection is how easily you can adapt it for any level.
For Beginners: Keep it simple! Reveal only the nouns and ask students to describe them. Or focus just on the verbs if you're practicing a specific tense.
For Intermediate Levels: Show the adjectives and nouns and have students create descriptive phrases. For example, in the image below, they could say "the well-dressed boy" or "the big, red bull."
For Advanced Levels: Challenge them! Reveal all the parts of speech, including the adverbs, and ask them to write complex, detailed sentences.
There's even a "Show Sample" button to give students an example if they get stuck!
Pro-Tip for Your Classroom
This activity is fantastic for in-class speaking practice. Work through one or two images together as a class or in small groups. Then, assign the rest of the pictures for homework to build writing skills. It’s a great way to flip the classroom!
