Hello, Cool English teachers! 👋 We are super excited to announce a massive update to one of our most popular listening activities. This week, we are rolling out five new additions to the 10-Question Challenge!
We know how hard it can be to find listening materials that feel authentic but are still accessible for different proficiency levels. That’s why we’ve taken the 10-Question Challenge to the next level with fresh topics, amazing new features, and the flexibility you need for your classroom. 🚀
🌟 What’s New?
We’ve added five essential categories that cover topics your students actually want to talk about. Whether you are teaching general English or Business English, we’ve got you covered:
Food 🍕 (Great for everyone!)
Health & Wellness 🏥
Technology & The Future 🤖
Travel & Exploration ✈️
Work & Career 💼
🎚️ Tailored for Every Student
One size definitely does not fit all in ESL. That’s why each of these new challenges comes in three distinct levels:
Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced
Each level features 10 unique questions spoken by 10 different voices so 150 questions total. This exposes your students to a variety of accents and speaking styles, helping them get accustomed to hearing "real" English from different native speakers, not just the textbook audio! 🎙️
🛠️ Total Control for Teachers
We’ve built this activity to be as flexible as possible. You can customize the experience to fit your lesson plan perfectly:
Scaffolding Support: Is the audio too fast? You can adjust the speed! Is listening too difficult? You can reveal the question text for support. 📝
Model Answers: Stuck on how to respond? You can show a "Model Answer" to give students a clear example of natural speech.
Complexity Check: You can even toggle the complexity to make the questions easier or harder on the fly.
🎮 Gamify Your Class!
Want to turn a boring listening drill into a high-energy competition? You can! 🏆
Modes: Play as a single player or split the class into Teams.
Timers: Add pressure with a 30-second timer per question, a 5-minute total timer, or keep it chill with no timer at all.
💡 Teaching Tip: The Conversation Starter
Don't forget the "Speaking Practice" Full View! This feature displays all 10 questions at once. It is an absolutely perfect warm-up or cool-down activity. Project the list on the board and let students interview each other in pairs, or use it for a whole-class discussion.
These updates are designed to help your students bridge the gap between hearing English and interacting with it.
